Reunited with her family, the lost dog was spotted at a NYC adoption event.
A family set out on a hopeful search for a new dog friend during a pet adoption event in New York City. They had no idea that fate had an unexpected turn of events in store for them. The mother noticed Sandy the dog, who was standing close to the Animal Care Centers of NYC Adoption van, as they wandered around the event. Sandy was eerily similar to their cherished Mocha, who had vanished a few months prior after being left in the care of a friend over the family vacation.
They walked up to Sandy, full of hope and expectation, and they recorded the touching moment on camera. They had no idea that Sandy was actually Mocha. She had been found outside the ASPCA, chained to a pole, one month earlier. Because of Mocha’s calm disposition and affable demeanor, the workers at the Animal Care Centers of NYC assumed she belonged to a loving family.
Following the establishment of ownership and the emotional reunification with her family, Mocha was warmly received back into their home. Sharing Mocha’s incredible journey, the Animal Care Centers of NYC expressed their joy and encouraged anybody looking for a furry friend to consider adoption through nycacc.org. There were a lot of adoptable pets in New York City who were just waiting for their chance to be loved members of permanent homes.
