Reminiscent of an incident from May 4th, 2012, Johansson was subjected to an inappropriate line of questioning during an interview, prompting a stern response from the actress.

Scarlett’s journey in the spotlight hasn’t been devoid of uncomfortable moments. A particular instance that stands out was during the promotion of “The Avengers” in 2012. A journalist named Jerry Penacoli inquired if she had donned underwear beneath her tight-fitting costume.

Facing such an invasive question, Johansson replied, “You are the fifth person to question this today. I’d rather let your thoughts run wild. Whatever you perceive I might or might not be wearing under that suit is up to you.”

Attempting to justify his impudent inquiry, Penacoli began, “It’s just that it appears so form-fitting…” but was promptly cut off by Johansson, who repeated, “It’s up to your imagination.”

Such tactless queries were clearly unsettling for the “Jojo Rabbit” star.

In another instance, during the promotion of “Avengers: Infinity War,” she was asked to elaborate on the evolution of her character’s outfit. Bemused, she responded, “Am I really being asked about fashion? I genuinely don’t know how to respond.”

During an appearance on actor Dax Shepard’s podcast, the actress lamented on the consistent pigeonholing she had experienced. “Often, I felt commodified. The roles that were presented to me felt limiting and stereotypical,” she shared.

Nevertheless, Johansson concluded on a hopeful note, expressing her optimism about the evolving environment in Hollywood. She emphasized recognizing and appreciating the authentic and transformative progress that’s unfolding in the industry.
