The talented vocalist turned actress, aged 23, presented her fitness with elegance, captured on a city view balcony.
Adorned in a light makeup application, Bailey, star of The Little Mermaid, showcased her naturally radiant complexion. Her look was finished with delicate silver hoop earrings.
The rising sensation wore her lengthy hair in braids that elegantly flowed past her waistline, almost reaching her knees.
Accompanying her post was the caption, ‘Girl of your dreams✨.’
Bailey’s portrayal of Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid reboot, released in May, marked her significant contribution to the film world.
This modern adaptation of the 1989 animated sensation has garnered mixed reactions on Metacritic, receiving a range of average to negative feedback from critics and viewers.
The decision to cast Bailey, announced by Disney in July 2019, stirred a storm of controversy online.
Disney has, however, been taking considerable strides towards inclusivity. Examples include featuring a same-sex kiss between two female characters in the film Lightyear and casting Bailey as a Black Ariel in their real-life rendition of the adored movie.
In a conversation with Variety, Bailey discussed the online furor, sharing how her grandparents uplifted her with encouraging words about the significance of her role.
Relaying their support, the Atlanta-born actress shared, ‘”You don’t understand what this is doing for us, for our community, for all the little Black and brown girls who are going to see themselves in you,” it was truly a moment of inspiration and beauty.’
She admitted that growing up with an Ariel of color could have significantly boosted her self-esteem.
She told the publication, ‘How it would have amplified my confidence, my self-belief, everything,’ she remarked, ‘it seems minor to others, but it’s monumental to us.’
Bailey entered the limelight as one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle, alongside her sister Chloe Bailey, who recently turned 25.
The sisters have released two albums, The Kids Are Alright and Ungodly Hour, and have been nominated for five Grammy Awards as a team.
In March, Chloe embarked on her solo journey with her debut album, In Pieces, which was followed by a nationwide tour.
The duo started their career in minor acting roles and relocated from Mableton, Georgia, to Los Angeles in 2012.
