Join Taylor Swift and her A-list squad for a night of glamour and surprises

July 3, 2023

In the mid-decade of the 2000s, Taylor Swift was thriving in her 1989 phase, characterized by crop tops and vintage Polaroids. Her songs such as “Blank Space” were as significant as the company she kept, a group of well-known friends, referred to as The Squad, that included names like Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, and Lorde. The peak of this highly publicized camaraderie was none other than Swift’s unforgettable 2016 Fourth of July celebration in Rhode Island, an event that drew the likes of Blake Lively, Cara Delevingne, and Uzo Aduba, all in matching swimwear.

Those were less complicated times, with the public yet unaware of the forthcoming West-Kardashian clash and Swift’s master recordings controversy. However, with recent rumors swirling about her breakup with Joe Alwyn, Swift seems to be seeking comfort in the company of her close circle and doesn’t seem to mind the ensuing media attention. It’s like taking a trip back to 2014, and it has a strangely pleasant vibe.

Just yesterday, Taylor Swift was seen in the Big Apple, hanging out with her long-term pals, Lively, Hadid, and the Haim sisters – Este, Danielle, and Alana, on their way to Zero Bond. Swift, looking chic in a black mini dress with a chain detail on the waist and black loafers (perfect for the NYC streets), led the group. Hadid and Lively both chose denim outfits, with Hadid sporting ripped jeans and a patchwork jacket, while Lively paired her high-waisted jeans with heels. The Haim siblings chose a minimalist yet stylish approach, donning tall black boots and short skirts.

Of course, it might just be a group of friends enjoying a casual outing, but the timing appears noteworthy. Swift has been the focus of paparazzi lenses quite frequently in the fortnight since Entertainment Tonight announced her alleged split. While she has avoided any blatant revenge dressing, a lively night out with her star-studded group of friends seems like a pretty effective way to show the world that she’s doing just fine, reminiscent of her lyric from “The 1”: “I’m doing good, I’m on some new shit.” Let’s hope this sighting is a sign that Swift’s Fourth of July party is making a comeback.
