Montoya faced the consequences of her actions on Tuesday, after a video showcasing her topless appearance at the White House Pride event last Saturday started circulating online. Interestingly, it was Montoya herself who shared the controversial clip.
A representative from the White House expressed their disapproval of Montoya’s actions, stating, “Such conduct is unsuitable and shows a lack of respect, regardless of the occasion.”
Montoya was an esteemed attendee at the Pride event held at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue last Saturday. In an encounter with Biden, she opted to lower her white gown, revealing her chest on the South Lawn, the Truman Balcony and a Pride flag forming the backdrop.
In the footage, Montoya is seen holding her chest, flanked by two shirtless men.
The video did not sit well with the White House, with the spokesperson adding, “It does not represent the spirit of the event we held to honor LGBTQI+ families nor the numerous other attendees who were present. Those seen in the video will not be welcome at future events.”
Montoya defended her actions on social media amidst a backlash on Monday night, rejecting claims of impropriety and arguing that those objecting to her topless appearance are simply affirming her femininity.
It should be highlighted that Montoya’s defense was shared online prior to the announcement of her ban from the White House.
